Scouting all begain in 1907 with a camp on Brownsea Island in Dorset so camping is an essential part of Scouting. All members of the group are encouraged to go to Camp. Beavers visit for the day but they also have their own one night 'Sleepovers' which we usually hold at our HQ.
Cubs will normally take part mainly in the Group camps as well as the District and County camps that are organised on a large scale. They may, occasionally, go away on weekend camps as a Pack.
Scouts regularly go away on camp. Generally each Troop will go on two weekend camps a year, as well as Group Camps, District and County Camps and Bivouac camps when they are organised. In addition Scouts can also attend the annual camps both under canvas and the indoor summer and winter trips we run.
Explorers continue to go away on camps and join in with all the camps that Scouts can do! They also begin the Duke of Edinburgh award allowing even more opportunities for camping.
Look at the individual section pages to see what camps they have been on recently. Or look under the Camps menu for those bigger camps that all members of the Group can attend.
